Single Board Computers

Single board compute is a big part of the edge-native paradigm, allowing great computational power while maintaining a small footprint. We have a lot of experience running these devices in production environments and it feels only right to share this with our community.

Hardware vendors

we've mainly been using:

  • Raspberry Pi: Big name in the industry, providing reliable hardware with great community support, however slightly lacking in resources offering only a 8gb ram model at time of writing.
  • Raxda: Chinese vendor with very powerfull hardware (up to 32gb RAM in a single board) but rather minimal support. Anyway, more fun for us!
